In order for the xi6 to work it needs to have WiFi and MoCa networks available. They will only work with a rented modem. They will not work with the modem in bridge mode or a owned modem. You can get a wired box if there is a coax connection near the existing box.

Actually, slight update: I put the Comcast Gateway into bridge mode, and set up a brand new router. I reserved the internal IP for the miner (not sure if that would even make a difference or not). I forward port 44158.
