I have the same issue with you. I have a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. It has a type-a port and a type-c port for the carplay. Weirdly, I tried all my type-a to type-c cables on my car. None of them activate the carplay, some of them I confirm it is a USB3 or data cable. I even tried to use a type-a to type-c adapter with a c-c cable. I’m pretty sure it’s not a CarPlay issue. The console USB connection comes from the center dash USB (if you take the center part off it’s the black micro USB connection on the right).
