The FCR carb will gladly provide 60mpg during easy highway cruising (50-60mph). Unloaded, WOT on the highway, I get 35mpg. Fully loaded with camping gear, WOT on the highway, I've gotten as low as 25mpg. The stock carb will jerk and cough when whacking the throttle open at high rpms. First off it took weeks to get as they were waiting or their new, must have billet throttle tubes. Finally got the carb, looked awesome, install was very easy. bumtarder. There is a vacuum line that is supposed to go from the nipple on the petcock to the port nipple on the cylinder head where you have it capped off. This allows engine vacuum to operate the petcock. The petcock is normally left to "on" or "res" during normal operation. Install the carb as sent and fire it up. Get it fully warmed up and cleared out. Evaluate how it runs. You should be about 1-1.5 turns out on the idle adjustment and it should start and idle fine. If it needs more then 1.5 turns out to maintain a good idle the rod is set to rich, if it idles high it is to lean.
The big bore can be done for well under 800, as can a fcr39 carb, which while the lectron is really cool, is cheaper and proven to make power with readily available settings.

You may also try CV carbs thats bigger than stock 36mm one on drz. Its realy choked down and can handle up to a 40mm CV carb no problem. CV carbs are realy fuel efficent and less sensitive to altitude and temp changes.
