Spud Speedway rose out of the potato fields in Caribou, Maine, when builder Bob Knowles of Unity, Maine, came to the County with a dream of building a brand new Speedway for all to enjoy in 1964. It started as a dirt track and one year later was paved and, for decades, has provided entertainment and excitement for so many people. Caribou Historical Center & Museum.
