It didn't start leaking until I put a shift kit in and reinstalled the pan with a new gasket. I even purchased a new pan (figuring the old one was warped around the bolt holes) and the leak is worse now!2. Take the bolt you have in that hole out. This (Yellow Circle) slides on the Trans Shifter Stud where you have that bolt. Just as you're holding it. 3. The later OD transmissions, namely the 700R4 and the 200-4R DO use a throttle valve cable that operates as you describe. The TH350 still used a vacuum modulator to vary line pressure. The cable is purely kickdown.
