If Metro Man needs to come out and micro-manage everything every time there's a problem there isn't much of a point to his retirement. I could totally buy into Metro Man being there, hanging out on the sidelines watching JUST IN CASE something went seriously wrong, but actively influencing the events just isn't a good idea, in my opinion.
