it's been a couple days since my package was supposedly shipped out but there has been no tracking updates since. i got a notice from mercari stating that if there is no tracking updates by a specific date that i may cancel the order and receive a full refund. out of curiosity, is it still possible for me to receive the package despite cancelling the order in this case?

Technically, it's a binding offer. That said though, you can message the seller and ask them to decline your offer. Please don't tell them why--it's unnecessary and annoying.
