CAUTION – Doordash Support Scam Targeting Drivers. Yesterday I encountered a scam posing as Doordash Support. I called support directly after and they took the info, were concerned and advised they are aware of this going on. DETAILS: (long) I received a large guarantee order /ping to a high-end cupcake place where I had to pay with the Red Card.
For drivers, you can think of the base pay as your minimum required earnings for every order. This amount is DoorDash’s base contribution for every order, and it will typically fall between $2-$10 . DoorDash states that a Dasher’s base pay is determined by the time, distance and desirability of the order. This is atrocious. DoorDash should be sued. They are exploiting humans. ALL Drivers are being exploited by DoorDash. Hourly and those of us expected to deliver $3.50 for 12 miles & if you decline. You’re punished by being sent worse orders like $4.50 for 20 miles. You can decline but you’ll pay for it. The scam here would be the customer grabbing the food before the delivery driver, then the delivery driver is no longer able to pick the order up. So the customer calls and reports the order was never delivered and gets a refund when they already got the food too.
