Hello, New to the forum, having issues with a 2019 silverado 3500 I just purchased about 3 weeks ago. The engine has developed a very loud ticking, sounds like its coming from the drivers side. At times you also hear a thumping noise that sounds like its coming from towards the front of the engine.I know it’s an old thread, but the L5P in the 2020 is the noisiest, most unpleasant Duramax to date. The thumping, ticking, screeching, and what I’m assuming is injector knock, is almost Unbearable. Very common after an oil change. Basically you get some air trapped in the lifter oil passage and it takes a bit of time for it to work out. When my LMM does it it takes 30 to 50 miles for it to clear up. Some claim that T6 or Amsoil are more prone to this.

If the noise continues when the torque converter is no longer attached and spinning, then the noise is coming from something that's moving/spinning.
