81 people found this helpful. My 2013 Ram went into 4th gear limp mode, I changed the shift solenoid, easy enough. Problem is the shift solenoid is in 1st gear now while the truck is in park up on ramps. Attempted to shift the transmission manually but cannot get the white plastic linkage removed, don't wanna break it. So if you use a 2011+ solenoid (or trans) in a 2007-2010 truck, you will blow continual P0760 (OD Solenoid Circuit) faults, since in the newer solenoid module there IS NO OD SOLENOID. So that would be my first suspicion. The 2011+ solenoid module has a GRAY wiring connector. The 2007-2010 style solenoid has a WHITE wiring connector.Dysfunctional computer system. Mud accumulated in gear operating system. Accumulation of debris and rocks under the cable hooks. Failure of the transmission system and solenoid. The PCM sends a signal (at startup) to tell the Trans Relay to close, which then feeds 12V power to the trans. Might be best to have your dealer diagnose.

IIRC if it was reflashed to factory and was in limp mode, tuning with some tuners might not take it out of limp mode. The ECM might need to see itself out of limp mode, which would mean connecting the missing parts back on for it to see them to pop out of limp mode, and be tuned.I have a 6-speed automatic transmission. Easy to fix, just take the top of the trans off from inside the cab and check it out, easy to see if it's trying to go into two gears at the same time. Big screwdriver will pry it right.
