Mar 5, 2024 · Annik (AH-nik) was born on July 3, 2019. As the second youngest beluga at Shedd, the dark gray coloring he was born with has lightened a bit. He can now be identified by a white half-moon marking in front of his blowhole. Beluga calves grow quickly, and this young male now measures 10 feet in length and weighs 1,000 pounds.

How Much Time Do You Need at the Shedd Aquarium. You can easily spend an entire day exploring the permanent exhibits and special programs. General admission tickets allow access from 9 AM to 5 PM (and to 6 PM on Saturdays). For expanded evening hours get the Total Experience tickets.
