In order to get it from the outbox you must stop the send (which will never happen) from the toolbar of Outlook in the lower part of the main window. Maybe ask to stop the "send/receive" action, if it's what keep the mail stuck in the outbox. It's strange because in my case i can always drag and drop a mail from the outbox inside the draft folder.
