With full 50-60gr charges of 1F black powder, my Walker levers do not drop , even with full day of shooting. 1F in the big Colts is fun, it probably doesn't make much real difference but it works so I'm sticking with it.

I don't have any experience with antique Belgian muzzleloaders, but I have owned and shot regularly several vintage SxS, including the dreaded damascus and laminated varieties. All were very clean, well maintained guns and I only used 2.5" black powder shell in them.

Turn it with an electric drill, and run the emery up and down the barrel a couple of hundred times; that should remove a lot of the pits unless they are very deep. Change the emery often to keep it sharp. Finish up with very fine emery to polish.
