It's not a 5.25 but we have a Leupold Deltapoint on my son's XDm. We have two friends that have Deltapoints on the slides of their open 38SC guns and they've shot thousands of rounds and never had a failure. The need to dry fire it to release the slide has always been part of the XD. The fact that you don't need to do it for XDm is a selling point. But in fact dry firing the XD for disassembly will not harm the gun at all. XDs was developed starting with the XDm design. So it also does not require pulling the trigger to release the slide. WE XDM is already out. Odds are slide would fit. More/different WE (=HK) slides rumored to be coming. Just look at the HK PX4. Detonator aluminum slides came first ($$$$), but Shooters Design eventually followed. If and when the slide breaks, there should be plenty of choice ($-wise) as to replacement.
